Love the weekend!

Good Monday Morning!
I hope you all had a super fun weekend! We sure had a blast!
Thursday was our Doggy Day Out. My grandma Val is visiting from New York and she had the experience of a lifetime. Miss Daisy, Tayma, Max, Lola and me went to Fiesta Island Dog Park, our favorite spot for running, swimming and romping. You remember Tayma from my last DDO story. She's the pug with no eyes. She was the life of the party again. Running out into the water and chasing after the ball. How does she do that if she can't see? It's a mistery. After our beach outing we went to Dirty Dog to freshen up. Nice warm baths and plum facials. My mom and my grandma sure did a good job getting all that sand and salt water off us.
Saturday we had a BBQ at Camp Carrie! We got to see a bunch of our human friends, and we had a houseful of canine friends. Sookie is a grate dane... the german shephards, Morley, Buddy, Elkie and Tara... Gidget and Bentley are westies... that a lot of dog! Talk about a Romp Fest! All those yummy aromas coming from the bbq. Mmm Mmm, chicken and burgers. I think we all concidered jumping up on the table and pigging out on all that delicious food. We were all on our best behavior though and my moms were so proud of us!
By Sunday we were all so tired out, it was a perfect day for rain. We moved all our big fluffy dog beds to the living room and watched movies with Grandma Val. It was a perfect ending to a perfect weekend.

Happy Sunday!

Hello All!

I'm sorry I haven't made a post in a while.  My blog has been under construction.  We are up and running now and hope you will all participate by posting comments and pictures to share with us.

Thursday we had a Doggy Day Out to Fiesta Island Dog Beach.  WOW!  Was it fun!  Tayma and Miss Daisy went with myself and Jenna.  The day was perfect for running in the sand and romping in the ocean.  WOO HOO!!!!  We got a little crazy!  There were so many other dogs there to play with.  Tayma was the life of the party.  She is a pug who has no eyes.  She was running around playing with all the other dogs, jumping in the water and rolling around in the wet sand.  We had so much fun playing with her!  So glad she is going with us next week.

(Tayma's mommy is Doctor Loveland who owns Presidio Veterinary Hospital.  If anyone is looking for a new vet you should give her a call 619.297.0219.  Her and the staff at Presidio treat all their pet friends as if they were their own.)

If you want to go for a Doggy Day Out with us at the beach on March 12th or 19th, call us.  You will have such a good time.  My mom will pick you up in the morning and after a fun day of ROMPING, you will get a nice long bath and facial.  You can even get your nails cut.  Just make sure your bed is ready for you because when you get home you will be ready to catch some Zzzzzzz's.

Questions on 'Pets and Spring Plants'?

BTW.  If any of you have questions on 'Pets and Spring Plants' please post them on my blog page. I want to make sure everyone has a safe spring season.  Easter is coming!  Lets make sure we are all healthy for chasing the Easter Bunny.

Pets and Spring Plants

WOO HOO!!  It's spring!  The beautiful weather is back and we sure are enjoying outside romp days and laying in the sun.

What's even more exciting is that Spring means the aroma of all those pretty flowers that arrive.  My mom has been gardening in the front yard and planting bulbs, flowers and we even have a beautiful hyacinth on the table inside. Mmmm!  They sure smell good, but I can't get very close to them because she has them completely out of my reach.  Why is she planting them so far away from our play area?  I had to do some research and get to the bottom of this mystery.

It turns out that many spring plants are toxic to dogs and cats.  So toxic in fact that if we ingest them we can become very sick.  I'm ashamed to confess, but I have been known to eat a plant here and there.  They smell so good that I sometimes think they must taste as good as they smell.  Mmm..  Don't tell my mom, but sometimes they do.  Not good enough to be sick with diarrhea, vomiting, lack of appetite, convulsions, seizures and gastrointestinal illness though.  I don't know what gastrointestinal illness means, but it sure sounds bad.  Let's just say, I wont be eating anymore plants and you shouldn't either.

I've made a list for you to pass along to your humans so they know what plants to keep you away from during springtime, incase you can't resist the temptation.

Highly toxic plants are: Tulips, Hyacinths, Daffodils, Peace lilies, Easter cactus and Crown of thorns.
Non-toxic plants: Easter daisies, Easter orchids, Easter lilies and Resurrection lilies.
(Oh.  Remember, just because they are non-toxic doesn't mean its okay to eat them.  I suggest keeping plants out of your diet completely.)
